In
the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Spending
on the way of Allah from our possession is highly emphasised
in Islam. Charity is one of the Pillars of Islam and
here on stand the foundations of Islamic economics,
solidarity and humanitarian activity. Those endowed
with wealth give away part of what they are given to
their brothers who are in need. This should be done
for no worldly gain of any sort but for the love and
pleasure of Allah thereby send a provision for ones
Eternal life. Here it is worth noting the distinguishing
aspect of helping others in Islam from similar humanitarian
activities. Unlike those who think that they serve Allah
by helping others, Islam urges believers to serve humanity
because they have to serve Allah. It is thus said, contribution
or sacrifice of any sort without having first believed
in Allah, accepted the Messenger and performed other
rites, or in the absence of sincerity and willingness,
will not have any acceptance. With that in mind, believers
urge each other and race as individual and in group
to please thier Lord by engaging on what He has commanded
to do and by abtaining for what He has made forbidden
for them.
Our Lord comprehendeth
all things in knowledge. In Allah do we put our trust. Our Lord! Decide
with truth between us and our folk, for Thou art the best of those
who make decision. (Q7:089) Our Lord: Pour out upon us patience and
cause us to die in submission. (Q7: 126) O
my Lord! ... Thou art our Protector: so forgive us and give us Thy
mercy; for Thou art the best of those who forgive. And ordain for
us that which is good, in this life and in the Hereafter: for we have
turned unto Thee. (Q7: 155-156)
